((Backdated to, uh, after the interrogation plot thing finished up. So I guess that would have been Friday evening-ish? I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes posting this; it's just that Ray would post a wrap-up on the network. Just to let folks know what's going on. And again, if there's still a riot happening, Ray saying that there isn't is purely IC.))

[Ray's back at his desk. It's about as untidy as in his last video post; a few stacks of paper may have been shifted around. Ray himself looks sort of tired, but not quite as stressed anymore as he did last post. He managed to sort this one out! He thinks.]

Right. So. For anyone who hasn't caught on yet, there's no riot. It's not gonna happen. The ringleaders are all banged up in Zero, so nobody try anything, alright? Let's all just go back to, y'know. Whatever it was we were doing before all of this started.

[Warden Filter]

To summarize. I got Ardent down to Zero to question him; Narvin did the same with the Master. Ardent caved the moment he knew he was busted and came forward with all sorts of info. Most of it we knew already. 'cept maybe that the warden they were gonna frame was Narvin. Apparently the Master suggested it. That's what Ardent's saying; dunno how accurate that is.

I'm not sure what came of questioning the Master. Not much, I'm guessing, since the Master attacked Narvin during the interrogation. Narvin's fine, he managed to knock the Master out before he could do any serious harm. Both Ardent and the Master are down in Zero now. Ardent's gonna stay there for the full week; dunno about the Master. That's up to Narvin.

What's happening with the other two? Saffron managed to clear her name, did she? What about Arthas? I hear he attacked someone; is he in Zero, then? He should be.

That's it, I think. I'm still piecing together how it all went down exactly, but I think we managed to stop this one before it got outta hand. Thanks to Kay for being on top of things. If any of you've got any more info, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know.

PMs to Lord Fanny, Kay, Narvin, Paddy, Ardent, and Una. )

((SO LOOKS LIKE KAY MANAGED TO KIND OF SABOTAGE THAT RIOT. Since once someone told Ray that Ardent might be involved in this, he started to ~investigate, and really, evidence wasn't hard to find. He feels kind of dumb for being so oblivious now. Sorry for possibly sabotaging this! I can't really figure out how else to have Ray react, though. Also, sorry for the spam. I felt that this should probably go in its own post.))

[Warden Filter]

[Ray's in his room, sitting at his rather untidy desk. He's got a notepad in one hand and is reading bulletpoints off of it. He seems pretty tense. This is because he just found out that his inmate is planning a riot, ffff.]

Right. So. That riot thing. Looks like Ardent's the ringleader. I just requested access to his private messages, and aside from a whole bunch of rants and speeches about the wardens--lots of crap about how we're the ones oppressing the inmates and how we're not a united front and could be taken down easily--I also found the following.

Ardent's primarily working with Saffron, Arthas and the Master. They want to incite the riot by having one of them kill Ardent and frame a warden for it. [He can't quite keep up the professional tone when he says this. Because WHAT THE FUCK, ARDENT.] Haven't found out yet which warden, but knowing Ardent, I'd say it'd probably be House. [That's wild speculation on Ray's part.] They want to use the dissent among the wardens that's to be expected after an accusation like this to unite the inmates in a search for the "culprit". [Those are airquotes he's doing, yes.]

Arthas was put in charge of leading and organizing the riot. Whoever Arthas' warden is, if you're not reading his private messages already, I suggest you start doing it now.

Doctor, that phone you were working on. Ardent broke it in order to cause more dissent and dissatisfaction. If there's been anything else that happened to anyone that they couldn't quite make sense of, might very well have been Ardent and his gang trying to cause more trouble.

That's what I found out so far. Oh, and they've been using the library to meet up and plan things. Doctor--other Doctor, the one in the beige suit--Ardent's banned from the library until further notice. And if you see any of the others skulking around, I suggest you kick them out as well.

Sorry for not catching this earlier. And thanks to Agent K for cluing me in. I'm gonna take Ardent down to the interrogation room on level zero and see what else I can get out of him. I suggest the wardens of the affected inmates do something similar.

[Private to the Admiral]

I'd like to be able to read all of Ardent's private messages. The ones he's posting in the future as well as the ones he's already posted. And I'd like him not to know about this, if that's possible.

Earlier in the day; just added into this post to avoid spamming the flist. )

[Warden Filter. Text.]

I put this out there a couple of days ago, and T'Pol, myself, and a couple of others worked out an idea how we might be able to deal with inmates having trouble they can't sort out with their wardens. Listen up everyone, because this concerns all of you.

The idea is for each warden to have a so-called back-up warden. That's simply one of the other wardens being the official go-to person for the inmate in question when they need to discuss an issue they feel they can't discuss with their warden, or when their warden was sent off-Barge unexpectedly. The back-up warden would not be a second warden option for the inmate; they would only be consulted in a situation where it's impossible for the inmate to talk to their actual warden.

Morgan suggested that inmates should choose who their warden's back-up warden should be. This way, we can prevent inmates feeling they can trust the back-up warden as little as they might be feeling they can trust their own warden. This means, of course, that each warden and back-up warden would have to meet up and talk, to make sure the inmate doesn't play them against one another, but I'm sure we could work that out.

So, to summarize:

- Each warden would be getting a back-up warden, who would be chosen by the warden's inmate.
- The back-up warden should only be addressed concerning issues that the inmate feels they can't sort with their own warden.
- The back-up warden would also function as a temporary substitute warden should the original warden be called off-Barge.
[Added later on.]
- No warden can be back-up warden for more than one inmate. Thanks to Sexby for pointing that out.

If you could all give me a yes or a no in a comment, that would be extremely helpful. If you don't care either way, you don't need to vote, but I think that if this is going to be implemented, it's going to be a Barge-wide thing. So if you've got an opinion, make sure to put your vote in now.

[Added even later on.]
Just to clarify. The back-up warden's not supposed to be getting all up in your warden business and undermine your authority. He's supposed to be a failsafe in case you're indisposed. As in, you died, you're sick, or you vanished off the face of the Barge. They're not supposed to undermine your warden authority or indulge your inmate's every complaint about you.

((Hah hah, watch me be on hiatus. Ray discussed this a couple of days ago, though, and I saw no IC reason for him to delay posting this. I will be slow tagging back to comments on this post, though.))
imjustpretty: (you're sorta pissing me off)
[Ray's not feeling well. At all. It's not quite as bad as the first few days of the death toll were, but it's bad enough. He's in an extremely sour mood, since on top of not feeling well, there has been another flood announcement--yet another one; the rate this ship is taking on water, you'd think the Admiral does it on purpose--and he found out that the Master is out of zero. It's the latter that has taken the biggest toll on his spirit. The man is insane and out of control; he needs to be locked up, but nobody on this ship seems to give a damn. In fact, Howie, who had promised to make sure that the Master was still in lock-up, never got back to him about it. Thanks, Howie. Good to know that the whole "I care about people dying" thing was just an act.]

Private messages for Howie and the Admiral. )

[After texting the private messages, Ray decides he needs to get out of his room. The familiar space is making him nervous, twitchy--cabin fever of some sort, maybe. Whatever it is, he's going to deal with it by wandering down to--the mess hall, maybe. Or the gym. Something. He'll figure it out when he gets there.]

[The idea of going to the infirmary doesn't even cross his mind. Neither does the thought that this may be flood-related, and that maybe his urge of getting out of his room is caused by an irrational, subconscious need to find a short, Russian/British soldier. He'll find out once he's found him.]

((Due to internet fail and me being away for most of Saturday, this is horribly late. So it's either backdated, or Ray and Blonsky are having a delayed flood reaction. I'm good with either! Since they're not going to be doing much besides get into a fight, maybe having this be Sunday morning would work? Tagging's gonna be slow on my part since my internet keeps dropping out.))

[The camera focuses on Ray's face. He's clean-shaven, his hair is carefully arranged in its usual bristly style, and the collar of his neatly buttoned-up shirt looks almost starched. It's still a casual look, but it's a very neat kind of casual. This is because Ray returned from the breach looking, feeling and smelling like a hobo, and felt the urgent need to demonstrate that this is not what he is.]

[The only thing he couldn't do anything much about are the circles under his eyes and a faint pallidness--he looks hungover. He
feels hungover. And is vaguely worried that he might go blind. He can't imagine that moonshine Stan was fueled on not containing at least as much methanol as alcohol.]

Right. That was--kinda surprising. What's gonna be next? Freaking Star Wars? [. . .] I am not, what's his name. Jar Jar Binks. Just so that's clear.

Oh, and the first person who calls me Stan gets his head kicked in. I mean that.

[Private to T'Pol]

This boat doesn't really give you a break, does it? You come through this alright?

[It's a perfectly innocent question. He has no idea what happened to T'Pol during the breach; he never even made it to the fair, or saw her.]

[Private to Howie]

I, uh, I realize this is a bit late. What with the whole carnival business and all. You alright? I mean, you live through that alright? I heard there was a bit of a riot thing happening, but I wasn't involved in that. [. . .] Anyway, I just wanted to say, y'know, thanks. For, y'know. Being around. When, you know. Before the flood. Breach. [He scratches the back of his neck, slightly awkward; then thinks of something and raises his head, his expression a bit on the alarmed side.]

Oh. Right. The--you know. The guy who, I mean, the guy who was in zero. He was running around free, during the breach. Is that--I mean, like, normal? Is he back in the cells? [He's talking about the Master. He knows what the Master calls himself, but Ray is not going to do him the favor of using his title. Ever.]

[Warden Filter]

[Ray's sitting at his desk, which he's cleaned up in honor of this semi-official occasion. He is trying to look Serious. The unmade bed in the background and the clutter lying around on the floor behind him is sort of ruining the effect, but he does look serious enough. It'll have to do.]

Ah, hi. So, I figured I'd put this on the warden filter, since it's kind of a warden type of issue, but really, this probably concerns inmates as well. I mean, security. That's what I'm talking about, I'm talking about security.

[He pauses and frowns, visibly trying to figure out how to best formulate his concerns. He's not much of a public speaker, but he's doing his best.]

I realize that people on this ship come from all over, time, space, what have you. So maybe I'm just, I dunno, having a culture shock or something. But where I come from, murder's a problem. As in, when it happens, I mean. People care. Sure, where I come from, people don't usually come back from getting murdered, but . . . I dunno, I just don't think that that makes it okay to go around murdering people for fun. The coming back bit, I mean. It's still murder, after all.

I guess what I'm saying is that this place needs a PD. A police force. Because really, I mean, people need someone they can call in an emergency. There needs to be procedure, a protocol. Otherwise what you get is anarchy. In the last week, there have been two homicides on this ship. Now, I realize it's a prison ship, and prisons can get nasty that way, but that doesn't mean it's okay to just let it go on. That's what I think, at least.

[Another pause and more frowning. He's not sure he got his point across as clearly as he would have liked to, but this is the best he can do, so he shrugs.]

Anyway. I'd, ah, I'd appreciate any input. That you have, I mean. On this issue.

((OOC: This is probably backdated a little, because I am slow. Ray is talking about Armand and Sylar getting murdered, and is posting this on the day of Sylar's murder. Which he wasn't involved in at all; he probably just overheard people talking about it in the mess hall.))
imjustpretty: (idgi and i don't trust it)
[Ray is wandering along the level 5 corridor of the Barge, heading for the library. He's carrying his communicator in his hand, and now and again throwing side-glances at it as he speaks. He can't pay it his full attention since he's too busy scrutinizing his surroundings with an extremely wary and suspicious eye.]

So, these flood things. Somebody wanna fill me in? S'far as I understand, you're forced to tell the truth, or something? That is just--spooky.

Does this kind of thing happen often, around here?

[OOC: Ray's affected. He doesn't have that many dirty secrets, but feel free to poke around. You might at least find some embarrassing ones.]
